REGINA – The Saskatchewan Ministry of Health has been doing some extra water testing in the Qu’Appelle lakes following the City of Regina’s release of strained sewage last week.
Sampling was done at Last Mountain, Pasqua, Echo, Katepwa, Round and Crooked lakes on Tuesday and Wednesday.
A total of 20 beaches were visited and 100 samples taken.
Test results for all but one sample were within the guideline levels for E. coli.

In a statement, health officials say they don’t feel the one result is of immediate concern as four other samples taken at the same beach were within the guideline level.
The beach in question will be tested again on Monday.
The health ministry hasn’t disclosed which Qu’Appelle beach tested above the guideline level for E. Coli.
