History: Aside from when it was held by Liberal MP David Iftody from 1993 to 2000, Provencher has been in the hands of the right-wing parties since 1972.
Demographics: This riding has high numbers of people whose mother tongue is either German (17.9 per cent) or French (10 per cent).
