Summary: This riding elected Conservative MP Diane Ablonczy in seven straight elections, but she is not re-offering in 2015. Boundary changes mean Conservative MP Michelle Rempel, who was elected in Calgary Centre-North in 2011, is running for re-election here. This riding attracted attention early in the campaign when the Liberal candidate, Ala Buzreba, stepped down after controversial tweets she made when she was a teenager were made public.
Boundaries: While this riding retains its name, it has seen a significant change in its boundaries. Geographically it is much smaller that it was in 2011, and it has added some new territory that was formerly a part of Calgary Centre-North. Panorama Hills, Huntington Hills, Thorncliffe, North Haven, Edgemont and Hamptons are all included in this redefined riding.
