Federal Election 2015: Banff-Airdrie riding results

Summary: This is a new riding for 2015, created because of population growth in Airdrie, Cochrane, and Canmore. Conservative incumbent Blake Richards, first elected in the former Wild Rose riding in 2008, is hoping to win a third term here.

Boundaries: This riding was carved out of the southern half of the former Wild Rose riding, with a tiny piece of what used to be the Macleod riding.

Last Election: If this riding existed in 2011, the Conservatives would have won with 70.7 per cent of the vote, followed by the NDP with 13.1 per cent.

History: This region has historically voted on the political right. The former riding of Wild Rose elected Myron Thompson as a Reform, Canadian Alliance, and then Conservative MP from 1993 until his retirement in 2008.
