MONTREAL – A man in his 20s is dead after a three-vehicle collision on the Jean-Jacques Bertrand Bridge in Lacolle, 60 kilometres south of Montreal.
The accident happened at around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday.
One man was killed and 11 others were injured and transported to hospital.
According to Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), three or four have major injuries.
Route 202 remained closed throughout the night, allowing SQ investigators to comb the scene for clues.
The cause of the crash is still unknown.
Engineers for the Transport Ministry were also on site to verify and secure a guardrail on the bridge that was damaged by the crash.
