TORONTO – Toronto’s temporary high occupancy lanes will be open to two or more occupants starting on Tuesday.
Drivers will no longer need three or more people in a vehicle to use the HOV lanes.
The temporary HOV lanes continue to operate from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. but the two or more occupancy rule will apply between July 28 to Aug. 18.
The lanes have been put in place for the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games to transport athletes, media, technical officials, as well as for emergency vehicles, public transit and licensed taxis.
