OPSEU to stage info pickets over planned changes to ServiceOntario

TORONTO – OPSEU members will use their lunch hour today to stage information pickets about ServiceOntario offices across the province.

The Ontario Public Sector Employees Union says it is concerned that privatization will severely reduce access to front line services.

The union says Finance Minister Dwight Duncan announced on Feb. 13 that ServiceOntario will have more private sector involvement.

OPSEU says this partial privatization will “jeopardize the security of Ontarians’ personal information.”
