The son of a Surrey realtor who was shot and killed in his home during a break-in Sunday night is speaking out about his father.
It is alleged 42-year-old Colin Hill got involved in an altercation with the intruder and was shot. He was at home with his family at the time. Emergency crews tried to save him, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
His son Matthew says no one in the world could ever replace his dad.
The past couple days, I’ve been reading comments by people describing the type of man my dad was. How he was a happy, friendly, loving person that’s a huge family man. You guys are 100% correct. But hes more then that. Hes also a role model, mentor, best friend, a hero and more. It doesn’t matter who you are. If you needed help, he would be there for you. My dad loved me, my sister and mom more then anyone in the world could ever. We all miss and think about him every second of the day.
In his statement, Hill mentions the accused, 22-year-old Khouri Lamar Green, and says what he did to his father is “unforgivable” and they hope for justice.
Green has an extensive criminal record. He was sentenced to six months in jail in January 2015 and was out of custody for three weeks and still on his one year probation, when Hill was murdered.
He appeared in court on Tuesday and is facing charges of second-degree murder.
Matthew says he is still left with a feeling that he just has to keep waiting and his father is going to come back.
My dad has raised and shaped me into the person I am today. Without him, I would never have became the guy I am today and I will do everything to try to become as amazing of a man my dad was.
A memorial for Hill will be held on Wednesday of next week.
