RCMP scuba divers scour Okanagan Lake off West Kelowna

WEST KELOWNA – RCMP are refusing to reveal why there are police scuba divers in Okanagan Lake.

They’re searching the area around the old CNR docks in Gellatly Bay which is popular for swimming and diving.

An officer on scene will only say it’s part of an ongoing investigation.

RCMP spokesperson, Cst. Steve Holmes, is also being kept in the dark.

“I have been advised that they were searching for an item or items pertaining to an ongoing investigation. I have no other information about this event or to what investigation it is associated.”

The area is temporarily off-limits to the public.
