QUEBEC – A Quebec City man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of an 82-year-old French tourist.
Sylvain Fournier is also charged with attempted murder in an alleged attack on the man’s 76-year-old wife.
The two were found lying on the ground and were taken to hospital after the altercation at an apartment building Sunday night.
The 41-year-old Fournier faces two charges of uttering death threats.
The woman was listed in stable condition in hospital Monday afternoon.
Fournier is expected to undergo a psychological evaluation to determine whether he is fit to stand trial.
