Tranquillized bear’s fall from tree at University of Colorado caught on camera

A bear found in a tree on campus at the University of Colorado Boulder had a dramatic fall after wildlife officials tranquillized the animal.

Images of the incident were posted to the university’s Facebook page and show the two-year-old bear in mid fall, as Colorado Parks and Wildlife and local police set up mats to soften the animal’s landing.

“Colorado Parks and Wildlife tranquilized the bear and waited for it to fall on padded mats,” the university wrote on its Facebook page. “The bear was unhurt and loaded into a trailer. Parks and Wildlife plan to relocate it in the mountains in Boulder or Larimer counties.
