The two men, one in his sixties and the other in his twenties, got lost after entering the forest but were able to use their cell phone to call the older man’s spouse. The pair initially believed they could make it out but realized they were in trouble as night fell, said Coquitlam SAR manager Michael Coyle.

SAR was called in at 11 p.m. last night and were able to make voice contact in the early hours of this morning.

Searchers say they hope to walk the pair out with the morning daylight.
