WATCH: The Royal Saskatchewan Museum is using a social media campaign to reunite a lost teddy bear with its owner
Can you help this lost teddy bear find its way home?
The tiny teddy bear has been roaming around the Royal Saskatchewan Museum since being left behind by his young owner on June 23.
His owner, an unidentified little boy, was seen running out of the museum’s Tyrannosaurus Rex exhibit, terrified by the robotic dinosaur dubbed Megamunch.
A museum employee assured the boy that everything would be ok – he had his bear to protect him.
“The little boy came running out of Megamunch with his bear, and one of my fellow co-workers, she saw him and said ‘oh don’t worry, you have your bear, so nothing can hurt you,’” Jenna Cannon, a gallery interpreter said during an interview Tuesday.
“’Megamunch won’t hurt you if you have your bear.’”
Then, later that day, employees found the bear in the museum bathroom. They decided it would be fun to take the bear on some “adventures” around the museum.
He even found his way back to the T. Rex exhibit.
Now, they’re on a Twitter mission to reunite the bear with his owner. But despite the media headlines, and retweets on Twitter, they haven’t been able to connect with the family.

“He’s got a lot of people retweeting and sharing,” Cannon said. “We haven’t had anyone say, ‘Oh I know someone who has a bear like that’ or ‘that’s my bear.’ We haven’t had anyone really mention the bear or knowing the family.”
Even though the bear still hasn’t found his way home, Daralyn Fauser, the Life Sciences program specialist at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum said the they’ve had quite a bit of added attention over the ordeal.
“It’s given us a chance to show off how great the museum is,” Fauser said. “We’ve even had a few people come in to meet the lost bear because he’s become a bit of a celebrity.”
So how long will the bear be camping out at The Royal Saskatchewan Museum? Fauser hopes it won’t be for too long.
“Well, hopefully until his little boy comes back for him, otherwise until he gets tired and has to go into hibernation.”
