Firefighters say two vehicles collided causing one of them to go over the guardrail of the bridge and plummet about five metres onto its roof in the creek bed early Saturday afternoon.

Emergency crews took 30 minutes to extricate four people from the vehicle and say it was a complicated rescue because the roof of the vehicle was “compromised.”

Firefighters say one of the passengers was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Toronto police and Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the collision.
