Nova Scotia teen in critical condition after collision with deer

HALIFAX – Nova Scotia RCMP, EHS, and the Onslow Belmont Fire Brigade were called to a collision involving a motorcycle and a deer shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday in Onslow Mountain, N.S.

Investigators say the rider was travelling eastbound on Onslow Mountain Road from Belmont when he hit the deer.

The man was found in the middle of the roadway. The deer, which was deceased, was found in the westbound lane.

The 19-year-old Belmont man was transported by EHS to hospital. He was later airlifted to the QE2 Hospital in Halifax, where he remains in critical condition.

Police have called in a traffic reconstructionist to help assist them in their investigation.
