WINNIPEG — Too many puppies is rarely a bad thing, but it does mean that the Manitoba Underdogs Rescue is in need of more donations.
“Right now is a hard time because a lot of the females have gone into heat, and we are having a lot more puppies born,” Sarah Smith said, a volunteer with the rescue.
The organization said it needs dog food to feed newborn puppies that are currently in their care. Many of their donations are going towards vet bills for other dogs that need treatment.
“We’re looking for pretty good decent brand food, anything with lots of protein because the dogs are quite thin,” Smith said.
The charity relies heavily on donations and their volunteers and right now they have a few dogs who also require surgeries. Food donations can be brought to The Dog Loft on Marion St. Winnipeggers can also contact the Manitoba Underdogs Rescue to find out how to donate.
