VANCOUVER – Russell Breweries, owner of Fort Garry Brewing in Winnipeg, is the target of a takeover offer from Premier Diversified Holdings Inc.
Officials at Premier, which recently acquired a significant minority stake in the regional beer maker, said the company would exchange one of its common shares for every 2.5 shares of Russell, which is headquartered near Vancouver in Surrey, B.C.
Based on the Thursday closing prices of the two stocks, Premier said its offer is 36.7 per cent above the Russell market price.
