Southern Manitoba school damaged by vandals

NIVERVILLE — Students in Niverville were greeted at school by several broken windows.

Police say 29 windows were smashed around 2:30 am June 13 at Niverville Collegiate.

Two school buses in the parking lot were also damaged.

When officers arrived on scene they found two people fleeing the area. Police managed to arrest them.

A 26-year old man from the RM of Ritchot and a 16-year old from Emerson have been charged with mischief over $5,000.

They were released on a promise to appear. A court date is set for August 11.

Niverville is about 40 kilometres south of Winnipeg.
