OLIVER — Penticton RCMP and the SPCA are investigating a case of alleged animal cruelty involving a dog being pulled behind a vehicle.
The incident happened Friday, June 12 in Oliver where witnesses rescued a puppy being dragged behind a vehicle on Road 22.
The witnesses, four women from Kelowna who were in the area on a wine tour, seized the dog and took it to a nearby vet.
The vehicle was being driven by a woman with two kids inside. She’s under investigation for animal cruelty.
The dog, an eight week old Red Heeler, suffered wounds to its paws.
It’s now in the care of the four women who rescued him.
He’s been named Vino.
