CALGARY – Calgary police are looking for community help in identifying a suspect believed to be connected to seven “locksmith solicitation” cases.
The man is described by police as Caucasian, between 50 and 55 years old, and 6’2” with white hair. Police say he goes by the name “John.”
According to police, the suspect has entered coffee shops and other businesses at peak hours or closing times and asked for small amounts of money to pay a locksmith as he was locked out. Upon refusal from the clerks, the suspect offers personal belongings as collateral. Once the clerks facilitate the money, the suspect doesn’t return for his belongings.
All seven incidents have happened since May throughout central Calgary.
Anyone who has information regarding the incidents or the suspect can contact CPS at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
