VANCOUVER – A B.C. man stopped to help a baby moose trapped in a fence on June 6 and caught the rescue on camera.
Pat Vinje, his father and his wife, were on their way to go fishing at Thyee Lake near Telkwa when they spotted the baby in distress.

The young moose was trapped in the barbed wire fence.
While the mother stood by watching, Vinje and his father freed the baby. The two animals then took off into the forest.
Vinje described the whole experience as “emotional”, saying they were a little concerned for their safety and kept a close eye on what mom was doing.
“She seemed to realize that we were helping and didn’t act overly aggressive,” he said in an email.
