REGINA – The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Sunday that the team has released quarterback Tino Sunseri.

Sunseri took over as the Riders starting quarterback last season after Darian Durant was injured during the Banjo Bowl. Suneri struggled as the team’s starting quarterback and the Riders were forced to sign Kerry Joseph.

Shortly after being released on Sunday Sunseri posted the following message on his twitter account:

“It was a [pleasure] to play with the Green and White the last two years. Can’t begin to explain how much I enjoyed playing in front of Rider Nation. You guys make it a special place and the experience will always stick with me. I know everything happens for a reason and I am excited for the next step. Thank you again and God bless.”

The Riders also announced that they have released:
