Penticton RCMP investigate suspicious death

PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP are investigating a suspicious death. Police found a male body in the 1000 block of Lakeshore Drive, early Thursday morning, when they responded to a report that shots had been fired. Police are describing it as an “unconfirmed homicide.”

By 10:00 a.m. Thursday, police tape had gone up near Golden Sands Resort on Lakeshore Drive.

Officers with the General Investigative Unit and Southeast Major Crime Unit are also assisting with the investigation. Police could be seen knocking on doors and canvassing the neighbourhood.

“Police believe this to be an isolated incident and want to reassure the public that they are currently not at risk,” wrote Cpl. D.J. Tyreman in a media release.
