Near Vernon — There’s something in the water and the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) has issued a boil-water advisory for residents hooked up to the Silver Star Water Utility.
The RDNO says the ‘notice’ went into effect June 3 due to bacteria found in the water.
That means residents should boil their water for at least one minute. That includes water used for washing produce, ice and brushing teeth.
The RDNO doesn’t say how the bacteria ended up in the water but says it’s investigating the matter.
It also doesn’t say how long the advisory may last.
