TORONTO – Nearly two months after pre-orders for the Apple Watch began, the wearable device will officially be available to purchase in stores at the end of the month.
The tech giant announced Thursday that prospective Apple Watch owners would be able to purchase select models of the smartwatch at Apple retail stores starting June 26.

In a press release, Apple said it was making progress with the backlog of Apple Watch orders – which began on April 10 – and thanked customers for their patience.
“All orders placed through May, with the sole exception of Apple Watch 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet, will ship to customers within two weeks,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s senior vice president of operations, in a press release.
“At that time, we’ll also begin selling some models in our Apple Retail Stores.”
An Apple spokesperson would not comment on what models would be available in stores.
