WINNIPEG — It was an unusual fishing expedition for water rescue crews Sunday.
A Duffy’s Taxi cab managed to make its way to the bottom of a retention pond in the Maples area.
The cab’s owner tells Global News the vehicle was stolen from his driveway Sunday morning. It had been left there by another driver who hid the keys inside the car. When the owner went to get the car at 8:30 am, it was gone.
Duffy’s dispatch used the vehicle’s GPS to find the vehicle in a retention pond near Ambergate Park.
Police say no one was inside.
