Trial delayed for man accused in death of flag person

WEYBURN, Sask. – The trial for a man accused of killing an 18-year-old highway worker in southeast Saskatchewan will not go ahead as scheduled. Keith Dunford’s trial was to take place the week of June 1, however, it has now been postponed as one of the lawyers involved in the case cannot attend due to a personal matter.

It will now take place Aug. 13-14 in Weyburn’s Court of Queen’s Bench.

Dunford is charged with criminal negligence causing death.

Ashley Dawn Richards, an 18-year-old flag person, was struck and killed in 2012 while working her first day on the job in a construction zone near Midale, Sask.
