PENTICTON – The cat up the tree in downtown Penticton was no household kitty. It was an intruder from the woods.

On Wednesday morning, a cougar was spotted up a tree along the Okanagan lake waterfront.

RCMP and conservation officers were called to deal with the potentially dangerous situation.

The big cat was captured a short distance away.

Conservation officers tagged it and released it back into the wild
