Toronto Police say a 13-year-old boy has been shot and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting in the city’s north-end.
Police say the boy was struck by a single bullet round at about 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon (on Driftwood Avenue near Jane Street and Finch Avenue) and was taken to hospital.
Officers are actively canvassing the area for bullet casings to determine how many rounds were fired, but say there was no reported calls of gunfire in the area.
Police say there is no known motive for the shooting and are not commenting on the extent of the victim’s injuries.
Police say they hope witnesses will come forward.
