EDMONTON – A search is underway south of Canmore after skeletal human remains were discovered late Thursday night.
Canmore RCMP say hikers came across the remains around 11:30 p.m. in the Spray Lakes Reservoir area.

Officers say the remains appear to be a human jaw bone and other bone fragments. A further search of the area is now underway.
The remains will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s officer in Calgary for examination early next week.
RCMP say it’s too early to determine if the death is criminal.
