MONCTON, N.B. – The municipal transit system in Moncton is getting help from the New Brunswick and federal governments to buy 11 new buses.

The 12-metre buses will replace older vehicles in Codiac Transpo’s fleet and will include larger ramp platforms for wheelchairs.

The total cost of the purchase is almost $5.5 million.

Ottawa is contributing about $2.7 million, the province just over $1.8 million and the city of Moncton about $900,000.
