WADENA, Sask. – A precautionary drinking water advisory has been lifted in a Saskatchewan town. The advisory was put in place in Wadena last weekend after an excessive amount of potassium permanganate spilled into the system at the water treatment plant.

While the advisory was in place, residents were told to us only bottled or good quality water as treating the water by boiling, freezing, filtering or other means would not make it safe.
The town has apologized for any inconvenience caused by the advisory.
