WATCH: New Westminster man raises money to help earthquake victims in Nepal

WATCH: British Columbians inside and outside of Nepal are continuing to do what they can to help the country recover from last month’s devastating earthquake. Jeremy Hunka reports.

For years he’s made his living taking trekkers to Nepal.

Now, one New Westminster man is giving back by raising money to help the earthquake ravaged nation.

Eoin White has close ties to Nepal — with both employees and friends in the country.

He operates a trekking company in the Himalayas and has visited more than 20 times.

While the people he is close to survived the quakes, the back-to-back disasters have left them with nothing.

That prompted White to set up an online fundraising campaign, raising more than $15,000 so far.

He says it’s hard being over here and watching his friends in trouble.
