Police need help finding driver involved in hit-and-run crash with motorcycle

EDMONTON — Police are hoping the public can help find the driver of an SUV involved in a hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in the crash, which happened near 119 Street and Ellerslie Road just before 1 a.m.

Witnesses said a grey Ford Escape was heading east on Ellerslie Road when it crossed the centre line just east of MacEwan Road and hit a motorcycle heading west.

The 34-year-old man riding the motorcycle was taken to hospital by EMS and had surgery for several injuries.

Police say the grey Ford Escape left the scene and was found by officers around 2:30 a.m. near Mill Woods Road East and 50 Street.
