UPDATE: Charges laid after man’s death in Abbotsford

Two men have been charged in connection with the death of a 38-year-old Abbotsford man earlier this month.

Just after 11:00 p.m. on May 10, a driver spotted the badly injured man in the area of Vedder Road and Lonzo Road, but emergency crews were not able to save him after they arrived.

The victim has now been identified as Guiseppe “Joe” Bengey Zecca.

Zecca received life-threatening injuries, including a a head injury.

As a result of the information gathered within the community, two men have been arrested and charged in Zecca’s death.

Twenty-three-year old Andre Provencal was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Thirty-one-year-old Shiloh Davidson was arrested and charged with second-degree murder for his part in the incident.

Provencal will be appearing in court today. Davidson will make his appearance on May 19.
