CN train strikes semi truck on tracks near Unity, Sask.

UNITY, Sask. – RCMP are investigating after a Canadian National Railway train collided with a semi truck near Unity, Sask. Sunday. Investigators say the westbound train struck the front portion of a vehicle which was on the tracks around 3 a.m.

The driver of the semi was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

No CN train personnel were injured in the crash.

There were no spills from any of the rail cars and the track is shut down until the train is fixed and the truck is removed.

RCMP are reminding the public to take caution when crossing rail lines at secondary crossings.

Unity is approximately 175 kilometres west of Saskatoon.
