Kelby Delaet/Global News

KELOWNA – A Kelowna man suffered smoke inhalation while trying to douse a fire Friday.

The fire department was called to a Harrop Avenue residence at about 11:15 a.m. where a hedge was on fire.

The flames had spread to a tent gazebo.

The man was given oxygen on scene because of breathing in smoke while fighting the flames with a garden hose.

Firefighters quickly finished the job upon their arrival.

The cause is under investigation.
