NDP candidate Shaye Anderson has won a seat in Leduc-Beaumont, breaking a long history of PC MLAs in the central Alberta riding. The area, just south of Edmonton, has been electing Conservative MLAs with majorities going back to the 1970s.
The previous MLA, George Rogers, was elected to his first term in 2004. He took to Twitter Tuesday night congratulate Anderson and say farewell to his followers.
