There are many places you can take your Christmas tree for disposal, but if you live in the Central Okanagan, there are two places you can go to take your tree while helping burn victims at the same time.
Kelowna firefighters spent a lot of time Saturday chipping Christmas trees into mulch while simultaneously taking donations for the Burn Charity Fund.
The fund supports programs for both children and adults who have survived serious burns.

Trees can be taken to the main fire hall on Enterprise Way or to the Mission fire hall on DeHart road.
A simple donation is all it takes to get your tree whittled down into chips.
“People can bring down their tree here and what we do is take it out of their vehicle for them, and we sweep their car or their truck, and we chip it,” said Captain Steve Wallick of the Kelowna Fire Department.
One woman who brought her tree for chipping says she took hers there instead of to a free site because she wanted to to honour Daniel Botkin, the firefighter who was killed by an explosion while fighting a fire in Enderby in late December.
Three local businesses, “4 Less Disposal”, Winn Rental and Cody Tree Trimming donated equipment and services so that 100% of donations could go to the B.C. Burn Fund.
Firefighters are offering the tree chipping service on Sunday as well as next weekend.
