WATCH: Father with terminal cancer gets father-daughter dance

One of the most special moments in a father’s life is walking his daughter down the aisle and sharing a father-daughter dance.

When 42-year-old Missouri man Charlie Kwentus realized that he wouldn’t have the chance to experience that and many more special moments with his two young daughters, he knew he had to create them while he was still around.

Kwentus was diagnosed with a brain tumour several years ago and recently decided to stop all treatment.

“My family backed me on it that it was time to quit,” Kwentus told NBC affiliate KSDK. “You know, quality versus quantity.”

Along with wife Courtney Beers and daughters Maren, 9, and Zoe, 13, Kwentus has been taking advantage of that quality time by taking a three week road trip across the western U.S.

To make their time even more special, Annie’s Hope, a non-profit organization that supports grieving children, planned a memorable evening for Charlie to spend with his girls.

With fresh hairdos and new dresses, Maren and Zoe got to join their dad for a private dinner at a local country club.

Before Kwentus gave a speech expressing his love for his daughters, each girl shared a special moment with dad with a father-daughter dance.

“Don’t cry,” Zoe whispered to her dad.

“I’m just crying because I’m happy,” he responded.
