Body of Dorothy Woods found, man charged with murder

Saskatoon police have arrested a 49-year-old man and charged him with murder after the remains of Dorothy Woods were found south of the city on Wednesday.

The suspect was originally identified as a person of interest early in the case.

He will remain in custody and is expected to appear in court on Monday.

Officials with Saskatoon Police Service say Woods remains were found in the area of Blackstrap Lake and were positively identified after an autopsy today.

Woods was reported missing after being last seen in the early morning hours of November 12, 2011.

Since then, police executed several warrants at her home on Riel Crescent and seized a computer on November 22nd.

Family and friends organized several searches hoping to find clues about her disappearance and held a candlelight vigil last night.
