Halifax NDP MP Megan Leslie joins us at 6:45am after a very busy week in Ottawa. We catch up with her for the latest on her work in both Halifax and Ottawa.
At 7:15am we’ll tell you all about Good Turn Week being put on by Scout’s Canada. Its meant to encourage people to do something nice for someone else. Jeffrey Doyle, Scout Nova Scotia’s youth spokesperson will be here to tell us about a local project in the community that is going to help dwindling bee and monarch butterfly populations.
A film festival for budding filmmakers is back for another year. At 7:45am we find out about the workshops that will be featured next week at ViewFinders. And we hear from a young director who won top prize at last year’s festival.

This weekend 15 NHL alumni will descend on Halifax for the annual BMO Hockey Heroes weekend. It’s the biggest fundraising event for the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Nova Scotia, and at 8:15am we’ll find out who the famous hockey players are and how you can meet them.
Stephanie Beaumont of Sea and Be Scene chats with us at 8:45am about which productions are impacted by the recent provincial government cuts to the Nova Scotia film tax credit.
