TORONTO- Google is taking its street view cameras off the street and throwing them under water in an attempt to map Loch Ness and find the much sought-after Loch Ness Monster.
Many have tried to find the gentle creature, and others have plotted to assassinate it. While Google hasn’t been able to find it – yet – it has uploaded the imagery, allowing anyone to explore the lake and see the world the way Nessie would.
People have been trying to find the Loch Ness Monster since a 1934 photo, dubbed “the Surgeon’s photograph” was published showing what appears to be a long neck of a dinosaur-like creature protruding from the water.
Skeptics have tried to dismiss the photo but that hasn’t stopped the growth of the myth. Nor has it stopped Google from pushing people to find it themselves.

“We’re bringing 360-degree Street View imagery of Loch Ness to Google Maps, so you can go in search of Nessie yourself,” according to a post on the Google Blog.
Google’s images offer a stunning look at the lake and its surroundings. The lake, or loch, is located near Inverness, Scotland and stretches 37 kilometres southwest to Fort Augustus.
The lake is also roughly 240 metres deep, giving Nessie plenty of room to roam.
