WATCH: Crews remove part of St. Henri’s St. Zotique Church bell tower
MONTREAL — Cranes were going up around St. Zotique Church in St. Henri early Friday, as crews were called in to remove part of the bell tower.
It appeared that one of the church’s two bell towers was leaning and considered dangerous.
Engineers were on-site, examining the bell tower and trying to decide how to best protect the safety of residents in the area.
They haven’t quite decided how to handle the delicate problem, but they are considering taking the bell tower down.
Local city councillor, Craig Sauvé, tweeted pictures from the site.
