Free hugs to remember Kelowna man

Tis the season for giving and on Monday, hundreds of hugs were being given out in downtown Kelowna.

Many people were downright excited to get a free hug while others were a little more hug hesitant.

The hugs were being handed out to honour the spirit of Wayne Cobb, who was killed last year when his motorcycle hit a deer.

The organizers, which include Wayne’s best friend Joey Stychin and Wayne’s wife, say the event is meant to spread the love forward.

“That was what Wayne was all about, giving unconditionally. We do it simply as an act of kindness,” said Joey Stychin.

This is the second Boxing Day in a row that Cobb’s friends have organized the Free Hug event.
