Nine facing charges in Saskatoon cocaine bust

SASKATOON – Nine people have been arrested after Saskatoon police made a cocaine bust. The bust comes after a trafficking investigation by the integrated drug enforcement street team (SIDEST).

Members of SIDEST, along with patrol and street gang officers, executed a search warrant around 9:15 p.m. at a home in the 10-block of Galbraith Crescent in the Fairhaven neighbourhood.

Police seized 112 grams of cocaine, two grams of marijuana and one gram of heroin along with a sawed-off pellet gun, two pellet handguns and $4,000 in cash.

Six people were arrested at that location.

Police also made a high-risk vehicle stop near Idylwyld Drive and 39th Street as part of the investigation. Three people were arrested and officers seized 46 grams of crack cocaine and $4,200 in cash.

Two women and seven men are facing numerous charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000. They are scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court Thursday afternoon.
