KAMLOOPS–The death of a woman in a Kamloops park on Tuesday was likely the result of a Pagan ceremony gone terribly wrong.
Heather Arlene Carr was found trapped inside a rock sculpture in Riverside Park early on March 31.
Firefighters were able to rescue her alive, but she died a few hours later in hospital.
Initially it was believed Carr had attempted suicide. But now friends and family are coming forward, saying the self-proclaimed Pagan was conducting a ritual.
On a Facebook group called “Being Pagan Out of the Broom Closet”, Heather’s husband said she passed away “from severe burns suffered in a ritual gone horrifically wrong.”
Coroners Service spokeswoman Barb McLintock confirmed they now think it was accidental, saying they believe Carr set the fire herself, before ending up inside it.
