SILVER STAR – They may be young but the competitors at the Canadian Jr. National Freestyle Ski Championships are already at top of their game. The competition has attracted some of the best junior freestyle skiers from across the country to Silver Star this week.
“It’s the pinnacle of the year for these young athletes,” says coach Jeremy Cooper.
Thursday athletes showed off their tricks competing in air events.
“I love being in the air,” says competitor, Koleton Phipps. “Jumping is like definitely one of my favourite things to do and any time that I have the opportunity to do it I’m happy to take it.”
The competition runs through until Saturday.
