ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – A young man is in custody after police in eastern Newfoundland responded to reports today of two separate stabbings in the Killbride area of St. John’s.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the first victim is a 44-year old man who remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Const. Suzanne FitzGerald says the second victim is a woman in her mid-20s.
She sustained minor wounds and has been released from hospital.
Police say their received two calls for help around 7 a.m.
