EDMONTON – A review is underway after an inmate at the Drumheller Institution passed away.
Dang Akays Dang, 27, was found unresponsive in his cell on December 12th. Correctional officers performed CPR, and the inmate was transferred to hospital.
Dang was pronounced dead at the Drumheller General Hospital at 8:05 pm on the 12th.
He was serving a 2 year sentence for Possession of Schedule I/II Substances for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Local police and the coroner have been notified about the death, and the Correctional Service of Canada is reviewing the incident.
